Rewheel has been supporting Yota in procuring LTE network

Russia’s Yota Group, the mobile services developer and provider and one of the world’s leaders in 4G technology, has decided to switch their network infrastructure to LTE standard.

Yota had contracted Rewheel to provide advisory support during the LTE radio and core vendor selection and contract negotiation processes.

Yota invested $500 million into WiMAX, and plans to invest $1.8 - $1.9 billion into the LTE rollout in Russia alone.

Yota has already ordered the first 1,000 LTE eNodeBs and corresponding core networks which will be rolled out in Kazan, Novosibirsk, Samara and two additional cities of Russia.

Yota invests $100 million into this first phase of the LTE deployment.

Aside from Russia, Yota includes Latin America, the CIS, as well as a series of countries in Asia and Africa, a total of 75 nations, into its global expansion plan.
